It  is a must that players on both sides should allow the ball to bounce  once before allowing the volleys. A no-volley zone of 7 ft is present on  every side of the net for preventing spiking. There are options to play  pickleball with singles or doubles. If you are wondering what are the  pickleball serving rules, you should take a look at the below article:

Pickleball Serving Rules

Here is a list of the serving rules in the pickleball game:

  • The arm of the server should move in the upward arc after the striking of the ball.
  • The player should make sure that the ball’s paddle should not be in contact above the navel level.
  • Besides this, the player needs to assure that the paddle’s head should not remain about the wrist’s highest part.
  • Another  rule is that the player should start the serve with a foot behind the  court’s baseline. In addition to this, none of the feet should come in  contact with the court and baseline once the ball gets struck.
  • The  server needs to be made diagonally in the crosscourt. Besides this, it  should land in the confines of the diagonal court, opposite.
  • Another rule is that the player will get just one serve attempt, where the event of a let becomes the exception.
  • The only person can serve in the team, which initiates the game.
  • The team members who serve the game’s first serve refer to the pickleball game score as “Zero, Zero, Two.”
  • Once  a point is scored, the game server re-positions for serving to another  court to confer the next serve. It will help if you remember that no  player serves the same serving box or to the same player two times in a  single row.
  • Once the initial serving team of the pickleball game faults, they transit the serve to the other team’s players.
  • The  other team will start their initial serving, where the player present  on the court’s right-hand side will serve first. The score is referred  to as “Zero, two, one.” The specific team will receive the service  sequence of 2 faults. So, every player will serve until the team fails  in their attempts to score the point.
  • The player who serves the  next time needs to serve from the specific side they are playing. Here,  the score is referred to as “Two, Two, Two.” After this, service will  alter from one side to the other until the player continues to make a  point.

The serve is now transferred to the starting team.  From now on, in each service sequence of the game, both the players will  be capable of completing the service turn.
The team’s point will  be even numbers as the pickleball team’s starting is placed on the  court’s right-hand side. In case the starting server is positioned on  the court’s left-hand side, there will always be odd points.

If you are planning to play pickleball, you should adhere to the serving as mentioned above rules.
