Do You Prefer Tennis Or Pickleball?

Pickleball belongs to the paddle ball sport and is a part of the many racquet sports. It perhaps is a combination of table tennis, badminton and the popular tennis game. It can be played by two or four players. Pickleball is played by using solid paddles. These are made of composite materials or wood. The pickleball basically is a perforated polymer ball and it comes with around 26 to 40 round holes. The ball has to be hit back to the opponents over a net.

Tennis as most of us are aware is a highly popular game and it is played both by men and women. While pickleball is mostly played by men and women above the age of 50, these days it is common to see even youngsters playing this game. Tennis is more about power, stamina, staying power and endurance.

It is quite common to see people engaging in a debate about PICKLEBALL VS. TENNIS. Hence, we thought it would be a good idea to find out as to which is a better gaming option. Both tennis and pickleball and unique and awesome in their own ways. However, there could be some reasons to believe that pickleball could score over tennis on some interesting parameters.

Why Pickleball Could Be A Winner?

Let us admit the fact that most of us play games like tennis or pickleball as a hobby or just to have some fun. Yes, many of us play it for keeping ourselves active, healthy and being in a position to give our body the workout that it needs. Further, we also need to understand that a big majority of our population is ageing and therefore they are on the lookout for a sporting activity that keeps them active, healthy and in good physical as well as mental shape. Towards this objective, there are reasons to believe that pickleball could be a winner.

Here are some more reasons for casting our vote in favor of pickleball, without meaning any disrespect or disregard for the majestic game called lawn tennis.

  • Pickleball focuses more on placement, strategy and planning rather than depending fully on brute force and athleticism.
  • Pickleball is played in a smaller-sized court compared to tennis. It, therefore, makes it a more social game. Players can talk amongst themselves. Games are also completely faster and this helps players to come back to the playing arena without having to wait for long periods of time.
  • Though slower when compared to tennis, there are times when the game sees rapid exchange of volleys.
  • The rallies in pickleball games last longer because of slower speed and smaller size of the courts.
  • There is no need to run around and cover long distances to chase, and connect a ball when you are playing pickleball. However, this is not the case as far as lawn tennis is concerned. Whether you are playing singles or double, mobility, agility, alertness, and extreme levels of physical fitness are a must if you really want to enjoy the game.
  • If you are looking for a casual game to warm up your body, then pickleball is certainly a much better option.

Conclusion

We are sure that we have been able to give a reasonably good insight about the reasons as to why pickleball could be a better choice for men and women above forty and also for young people who are looking for a casual fling.
